Smart energy, smart processes: automated translations for NeoVac

Multilingual content without a common thread? NeoVac set out to change that – and now relies on Diction as its central language partner. With a glossary, style guide and seamless system integration, we bring structure to every translation project. True to our motto: “Plan. Create. Automate.” A full flow of (linguistic) energy!

Facts

NeoVac provides integrated solutions that enable smart, resource-efficient use and secure storage of energy and water.
This family-run SME employs around 650 people and has been delivering expert services from one source for more than 50 years.
Over the past five years, the company has grown significantly – making effective multilingual communication more important than ever.

Background

How can you establish a consistent workflow for different resources?

NeoVac is well known for its solutions that promote smart energy use. The company understands exactly how to make the most of its resources and turn them into new opportunities. So, it was only logical for NeoVac to optimise its workflow for multilingual content. Before working with Diction, NeoVac relied on different translation providers for each target language and had no structured ordering process in place. Writing guidelines and specialised terminology were often inconsistent as well, meaning the quality and coherence of the texts often fell short of NeoVac’s expectations. The company was also looking for a technically experienced partner capable of delivering system integrations.

Objective

How can you achieve streamlined ordering processes and consistent translations?

To address these challenges, NeoVac set out to find a single partner who could provide all languages and services in different quality levels. It was also essential for the company to have one dedicated contact at Diction for project management and strategic collaboration. Because standardised spelling rules and glossaries were missing or incomplete in the target languages, Diction’s Language Consulting Team was tasked with creating and managing these language assets. Combined with the data collected from the translation memory, this also helped to optimise machine translation results.

Solution

The solution for structured translation processes: “Plan. Create. Automate.”

You may already be familiar with it. With this three-stage system, we support our clients even before the actual translations begin – and our involvement continues well beyond the delivery of the final texts. For NeoVac, this proved to be the perfect fit. During the “Plan” phase, the language assets were thoroughly analysed and developed. NeoVac now benefits from a comprehensive multilingual technical glossary and a clearly defined style guide. Both are used by NeoVac’s teams and by our language experts during the “Create” phase, when consistent communication is produced for all target groups. In the “Automate” phase, we assessed the integration of a trained MT engine into NeoVac’s intranet. Our Diction AI now handles short texts with tight turnaround times. And as with all technology, the key is ongoing dialogue – because that’s what keeps the energy flowing.

Quote

Since we began working with Diction, we have seen just how valuable the interplay of terminology, creativity and automation is for professional multilingual communication. Receiving everything from a single source makes a real difference and we always feel treated as an equal partner throughout the process. Diction is innovative and bold, yet never loses sight of crucial issues such as data protection. A clear recommendation!
